This day in Westling History

Today in my opinion is one of the sadest days in last 10 years of Wrestling History as this day 6 years ago Latino Heat Eddie Guerrero passed away. Eddie grew up in the business because of his father owning a company in El Paso & let Chavo & Eddie fight during intermission. Eddie was one of those special breed of guys who trained all over the world starting in Mexico in 1992. Eddie began in a team with El Hijo Del Santo they stayed together until Eddie turned on Del Santo joining Art Barr & formed the most hated team in Lucha Libre History. Before they could get their big break in the US Art passed away leaving Guerrero by himself so to hone his skills futurer he went to Japan. While in Japan Eddie worked for a short time with Benoit, & Malenko in ECW before being noticed & signed by WCW in 1995 but fully coming in till 96 when he left Japan. In 1996 Guerrero recieved mutiple shots at the US title fighting Flair, & Konnan for the title but losing he didnt really win the title until Starcade beating DDP in the US Title Tournament finals. Eddie kept the title for 3 months losing it to Dean Malenko at Uncensord 97, he then jumped into the Cruserwieght divison trying to get the title off Jericho. In the span of 5 months eddie won the cruserweight title twice once from Jericho & the other time from Mysterio. For the next year Eddie was at mid-card status not winning another championship in WCW as he feuds with Chavo, forms the LWO, & forms Filthy Animals in 99. On Janurary 19 2000 Eddie asks for his release from WCW after a year & a half of frustration. Once debuting in WWE with Perry Saturn, Chris Benoit, & Dean Malenko; Eddie gets hurt performing a frog splash & is out for several weeks. He gets back and is in the low mid card level competiting for the European title, on 4/3/00 he wins his first WWE title winning the European title from Jericho with help from Chyna. After losing the European title to Saturn at Fully Loaded he didnt taste gold again until 9/4 when he pinned Chyna to win the IC title belt. In 2001 prior to the buying of WCW, WWE released Eddie Guerrero from his contract because of his drug problems so eddie went to work on the circut. Shortly after returning he formed a tag team with Chavo known as Los Guerreros they won the WWE tag titles 2 times then after Chavo got hurt Eddie won the titles 1 with Tajri. Before his second regin with Chavo he won the US Title then a month or two later won the tag team with Chavo becoming Double Champion. The last full year of Eddie's life saw him win the WWE Title at No Way Out celebrate with his best friend to end Wrestlemania, & doing some lieing, cheating and stealing like only Eddie can. Then comes 2005 Eddie teams with Rey in the early part of the year, then feuds with him mid way through the year & then his last feud was with Batista over the World Title. Eddie's last match was vs Mr Kennedy on the November 11 edition of Smackdown Eddie won the match via DQ in true Eddie fashion.
