Hall of Famer's Speak

Both of these videos below are with Bret Hart speaking on various topics that are being asked of him and at the end of each video there is an advertisement for a Bret Hart DVD. Why not take a look at the videos I am not saying what he talks about because I don't want to spoil it. I will say that Bret only talks about things that are WWE related. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=xSNJX1aBDSw http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=gvDEUrOkuwM Also featured below is the newest edition of Apter chat with WWE hall of Famer Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka: they discuss Jimmy's ankle surgery, Undertaker's streak, Backlund to the Hall of Fame, Bruiser Brody & more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rvBgYmRRpik -Enjoy

This day in Wrestling History

Image
Today 8 years ago, WWE held the 2005 Royal Rumble; matches they had on the card were the Royal Rumble, Triple H def Randy Orton for World Title, JBL vs Eddie Guerrero vs Big Show for the WWE Championship, Heidenrich vs Undertaker in a Casket Match, Shawn Michaels vs Edge.  Edge beat Shawn Michaels in the opening match, Undertaker defeat Heidenrich in a Casket Match; Heidenrich would be gone from WWE in this then a year after this match. Next, JBL defeat Eddie Guerrero & Big Show to retain his World Title. Bradshaw would retain his title and continue to keep his title until Wrestlemania 21 when he lost it to Cena. This was also the longest WWE title in Smackdown history which is one of the few records that don't matter nowadays because the Brand extension doesn't exist anymore.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q3rMDIe6j1A  Highlights of Royal Rumble 2005

WWE: We understand

We don't chose who you push even though we should because if they don't get a reaction don't shove them down our throats.  No matter how much we like a guy if he isn't John Cena or like by Triple H he won't get pushed No matter how much talent a guy has it's more important for him to be in a stupid skit then a competitive wrestling match The Attitude Era isn't ever coming Back no matter how much some of us want it to.  These are four things as fans of the WWE we should come to accept, because they have been the same way for so long and we have waited for change for so long and it hasn't come. WWE doesn't care what we have to say because Vince has never taken what the people want into consideration if he did then anyone we say would have been World Champion. Vince only cares about who makes him money & will tell us who to cheer for which is part of the reason why he never appealed to the Hardcore fans. As it is easier to get the causal

Wrong form of Entertainment

Goal shouldnt be "how do we get casual fans to buy  # WrestleMania ?" Should be "how do we get casual fans to buy everything else?" @steveaustinBSR used 2 preach about the importance of #WWE Title & what it meant to the  champion  & the @WWE. @CMPunk restored that feeling. Look at both those tweets from one former WWE creative writer back in the late 90's and early 2000's then look at the other one it's a tweet from one of the Greatest Wrestling announcers of All time. Now think about how they pertain to what happened at the Royal Rumble last night. Now I told everyone who would listen that if a certain Fruity Pebble, Superman wannabee from West Newberry, MA won the Rumble. He did, but I am not going to rip into WWE, I am not going to rant because over the last year I have ranted on WWE more times then I can count. This is different because I have been speaking up for months and I have given up the WWE doesn't give too S*** about there H

PPV Predictions

Royal Rumble   Pre-Show:  (c) Antonio Cesaro vs The Miz this will be a good match but nothing special as it doesn't need to be because it is the Pre-Show match even though it's for a title still. Even though it'd be nice to see Miz be a champion again I am kind of biased to Cesaro so I hope he retains the gold.  (c) Kaitlyn vs Tamina  this will be the usual divas match not to long but not to short, and because they probably want to make both divas look strong neither one will dominate the match. But I think Kaitlyn unless she is a transition champion will retain the title tonight (c) Team Hell No vs Rhodes Scholars these two teams have been at the top for most part of the WWE tag team division rebirth which is why to see this match go long is important in how the people view the tag team division as the year progresses. I think it is time for Kane & Bryan to move on in which case Rhodes & Sandow win here. Last Man Standing: (c) Alberto Del R

Memorable Matches

Image
This blog post is about a match that has taken place during the history of wrestling that either people still sit there and say I don't believe this happened or I still remember this match and where i was when i saw it the first time. With the WWE doing some many dream matches nowadays i find it only fitting to start with..... it's "competition" not WCW but TNA back in 2005 TNA had what many call the Best Match in TNA history at Unbreakable 2005 it was AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe vs Christopher Daniels for the X-Division title. To say these guys torn the house down is an understatement this was one of the many reason why TNA was the Alternative to WWE during this period. Enjoy!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bbdk_PP4rRk Joe vs Daniels vs Styles also..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FQrPIwFytBY  Unbreakable 2005 highlights

Royal Rumble Recall 2

Image
I did this earlier in the week but this one is a little bit different as it one the WWE wants us to forget because of who won the Rumble Match. This day in Wrestling history 9 years ago, was the 2004 Royal Rumble Match which was one by Chris Benoit. Don't tell WWE I said his name they don't want anyone to remember who he has or his accomplishments so just for WWE I will not mention his name again. Now Benoit also became only the 2nd person ever to win the Rumble at #2 which is now not a part of the Rumble stats because of what happened back in 2007. I know I said I wouldn't say his name again but WWE has taken back promises before or changed plans many times and that's what I did there. Below is the 2004 Royal Rumble Match and highlights of the event: Enjoy!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCKdftfsStY   Royal Rumble 2004 highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YGikX-SYdOM   Royal Rumble By the Numbers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3aRp36VWpd4  Royal Rum

THQ is Sold

With the auction of THQ's assets taking place today and it being official now that all of THQ's licences, studios, etc have been sold. Companies like Sega, Ubisoft, Take Two, Koch Media, & Crytek are just a few of the gaming companies to purchase THQ's assets. However in the notice it didn't mention who bought WWE Games licence as it wasn't leaked yet. THQ has been wrestling games for the last 13 years starting with WCW Revenge, then leaving the WCW series after WCW in 1998. After they finished with WCW they moved on to the WWE in 2000 with Smackdown 1 and then staying with WWE for 13 years after that. They published games like Smackdown 1 & 2, Smackdown Just Bring It, Smackdown Shut Your Mouth, Smackdown vs Raw series, Crush Hour, Raw 1 & 2, Wrestlemania 2000, Day of Reckoning 1 & 2, etc. All in all with word having that production has already started on WWE 14 which is or was set for release in late 2013 all that's to say now is...... Who'

WWE's Newest Talent Raid

Image
With El Generico all but headed to the WWE now he leaves behind him a great career on the nonindependent circuit in both the US & Canada. But Generico isn't the only one WWE has their eyes on now as word has it that the Briscoes, Adam Cole, & Sami Callahan are all in line for a tryout with WWE. If WWE signs them to WWE will once again cripple ROH as they would have taken both the Briscoes and Cole who are at this point both champions in Ring Of Honor. As of right now it is only a rumor but if it happens and ROH and the Indy circuit as a whole lose these men it will be a big loss for the circuit. The Briscoes & Sami are 3 of the most known talents still on the Indy Circuit. Adam Cole has been honing his craft since at 2009 and he is only 23 now which says a lot. If these four men are signed by WWE then they will join a classic group within the ranks of WWE. No not the group of people who have been beaten by that fruity pebble from West Newberry, MA. I am talking about

Royal Rumble Recall

With the Royal Rumble right around the corner I though it'd be fun to take a look back at a Royal Rumble from the past. This is like a combination of This Day in Wrestling History & just a post on the Rumble. Because to write about it the Rumble had to have happend today. This is not me talking about the Rumble it is baiscally highlights of the Rumble. The Royal Rumble matches we will look at are Royal Rumbles of 2001, 1996, 1990. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OA_y3o4oJnQ  2001 Royal Rumble Highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSKFd-p-o8E  1996 Royal Rumble Highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xVE_AtiJL0  1990 Royal Rumble Highlights

Superstar Recall 2

Today we are take another trip back in the wrestling time machine to 1992 in the WWF specifically to a certain superstars debut. Before he was bowdy bowdy for rowdy rowdy and before the NWO he was in the WWF as a spaceman named Max. Who remembers a star named Max Moon take a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7m9hpV3PNyU Max Moon vs Repo Man http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ciNbWd3q2Sw  Konnan vs Eddie Guerrero

Moment in Time 4

The last Moment in Time was so well received that i decided to do a second one this month; which I wasn't planning to do but plans change. Last time we took a look at January 4th 1999 the night of the finger poke of doom and the night Mick Foley won the WWF title. Next, Moment we will take a look back at is 11 years to the date after this moment January 4th 2010 the night TNA & WWE went head to head. Also this was the night that for the first time in 13 years that Bret Hart would be in a WWE ring; Now let's see that night from both perspectives with two videos below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bX6Kehd-wdc Bret Hart's return 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsEtWvpzlB8 Hulk Hogan's TNA debut 2010

Kliq Politics

Image
I saw a headline on a dirt-sheet earlier today that there is talk in WWE for the Kliq to get inducted into the Hall of Fame. Is this a joke, for fans who aren't aware of the backstage situation in WWE during the mid 1990's they will not understand not only the name of the group but why they are in the Hall of Fame. OK they mentioned the Kliq in the Nash/HHH/Punk feud in 2011 but still do you think people will understand why. Now if your talking about the NWO and DX as separate groups of course they both deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. But the Kliq getting inducted would be worse then seeing Drew Carey get inducted into the Hall of Fame and I mean that. This is no way saying that all members of the Kliq didn't have Hall of Fame careers but this group did nothing but hurt the WWE and their is no reason why they should be even considered for the Hall of Fame. All this and the biggest superstar in WWE history Bruno Sammartino isn't in the Hall of Fame yet it is a damn sh

Wrestling Families

Throught the History of Wrestling there have been many great Families that have dazzled fans over generations with similarities to how the first generation operated. In this Blog series we will take a look at some of the greatest Wrestling families in the history of this great business. To Start I figured we would go with a family everyone knows and probably one of the most famous Wrestling families in the World or at least in Canada. I am of course speaking of the Hart Family. Stu Hart the Patriarch of the Hart Family, Stu opened his promotion Stampede Wrestling in 1948. Like Fritz in Texas, All of Stu's kids worked for him in Stampede. What some people don't know is that Stu and Helen Hart had 12 kids (8 boys & 4 girls) their last child was Owen. Only none of the girls were in wrestling they however married wrestlers. Ellie Hart married Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, Georgia Hart married BJ Annis, Allison Hart Married Ben Bassarab, & Diana Hart married Davey Bo

Independent Until Now

Over the past few years many people have seen or heard about WWE targeting some of their favorite stars who are/were on the Indy scene. From Claudio Castagnoli, Tyler Black, Bryan Danielson, & Incognito a few years ago. For those who may not know Claudio is Antonio Cesaro, & Incognito is Hunico; also Seth Rollins is Tyler Black. But more recently WWE has signed Pac, Chris Hero, Brodie Lee, Jon Moxley, now with Physical Pending WWE has signed The Generic Luchadore "El Generico." Generico has been a long standing independent wrestler for the last decade he has made his mark on the Canadian Independent Circuit but also on the Indy Circuit here in the US. Generico has competed in various companies from ROH, DGUSA, PWG, Evovle, TNA, PWS, WXW, DDT, LWA, CZW, & others. Like most of us that are apart of the IWC always say we hope WWE uses in him right because they have a bad history of misusing talent. Generico, I believe if given the opportunity to display exactly what

PPV Predictions

TNA Genesis     Gail Kim vs. ODB vs. Miss Tessmacher vs. Mickie James vs. Velvet Sky this will be a usual women's match; even though it is a Gauntlet Match, I don't think it will be anything special and if I had to guess Miss Tessmacher will be the winner Christian York vs. Kenny King this match has all the makings to be a good match as both men know what they are doing in the ring. From how they are booking King on TV it seems as though he is getting pushed so I think he'll win here (c) Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez vs. Matt Morgan and Joey Ryan honestly even with Chavo & Joey being as good as they are in the ring I don't think Morgan & Hernandez can have a good match together. By the way I think Chavo & Hernandez retain (c) Rob Van Dam vs. Winner of X-Division Tournament (Kenny King) like the X-Division match earlier on the show this match has all the makings of being a good match as well but like the other match they both have to be giv

Spring Cleaning Early Start

Image
As of this writing the first victim of this years Spring Cleaning from WWE has been "Future Endeavored" it is not Zack Ryder. It is Trent Baretta; after months on the shelf with an injury Trent came back and was wrestling in NXT. Many say Trent has talent but was misused by WWE and I agree he was a really good jobber and is young enough were they could have made him into a decent mid-carder. But sometimes WWE doesn't always think in the best way possible to help keep certain people around. That's what happened to Trent, he was better then when they first signed him and still he is only 25 years old, now that WWE sent him packing he can go to a company that would know how to use him. Trent debuted on the Main Roster, after about 2 & 1/2 years in FCW apart of a team called the Dudebusters with his partner Caylen Croft. They joined the ECW brand where they feuded with Goldust & Yoshi Tatsu ultimately losing to them in the feud. Once, the ECW brand was ended the

How I Would Book it WCW 1990......... Part 2

WWE Games Future is Dark

Image
Over the last few months news has broke that Video Game Publisher for the WWE games THQ first filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection back a few weeks ago but now; They have been declared bankrupt. The selling of THQ to Clearlake Capital Group will be done as quickly as first expected because the judge overseeing the case would not permit the sale. The Clearlake Capital Group LLC. is an investment firm located in Santa Monica California. One of the reason the judge didn't let the sale happen because there are 10 potentially interested buyers only if there was time to peruse the books. It means the companies interested just want to check to make sure/see that THQ is profitable before attempting to buy it.  Also some Stockholders believe their is money to be made by selling some of the companies licences or businesses rather then a straight sale. Along with the WWE series THQ is responsible for the Sanits Row series, Homefront series, Spongebob series, Destroy All Humans Series,

Spring Cleaning Coming Early!!!!

As of this writing there are rumors going through WWE that Zack Ryder could be on his way out of WWE not only with other people but he could be asking for his release in the very near future. As he has hinted on more then one occasion that he is frustrated with how WWE has been using him. At first it boiled over back in the Summer with the mid card guys but now since nothing has changed Ryder and others have adopted the "I don't give a s***" attitude when it comes to if they get fired or not. Once again I don't know everyone all I know is that it is a lot of the mid-card & divas who feel they are not being valued as good as they should be. Ryder has said it on his Youtube show Z True Long Island Story that WWE dropped the ball with him and that 2012 sucked for him. Which I agree with both statements I mean it was the perfect opportunity for WWE to push someone new but they instead botched it and made him lose all of his momentum. For one reason he wasn't push

TNA Boot Camp: Episode 1 & 2

Moment in Time 3

Image
Like I have been doing with this posting series of events that have in one way or another been burned into the minds of Wrestling fans. The first two were the forming of the NWO & the other was Austin 3:16 promo from King of the Ring 96. Now we move back to WCW with this next moment actually has two part to it both happened during the same show. I am referring two the January 4th 1999 edition of Nitro the episode that many people say helped kill WCW. The first video is Tony Schiavone's reveling that Mick Foley was going to win the WWF title & the second video is the famous "Finger Poke of Doom." (That reformed the NWO) Here We Go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O8nbJikFTv8   Tony Schiavone revels Mick Foley will win the WWF title http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08oiGEPxHmQ   Finger Poke of Doom (Kevin Nash vs Hulk Hogan)
