This day in Westling History

This day 9 years ago the wrestling world was sadended by the loss of one half of one of the greatest tag teams in the history of the business his name is Michael Hegstrand aka Road Warrior Hawk. Beging in GCW one of the main NWA territories Road Warrior Hawk & Animal were off and running with Paul Ellring their manager. After reach top success in GCW they moved to bigger companies specifically the AWA & AJPW which is All Japan Pro Wrestling & is one of the longer running companies in all of Japan. In early 1987 they returned to the AWA but instead left for big money contracts in the NWA were they got a huge push to boot as a monster duo. After years of feuding with some of the top teams in wrestling from 4 horseman, Samoan Swat Team (later Headshrinkers), Russian Team, Midnight Express, The Powers of Pain, & others. Also becoming 1 time Tag Champion & winners of the Jim Crockett SR tag team Memorial Cup they moved on in 1990 to the company they not been yet that was the WWF. Just over a year after signing they won the tag titles from Demolition who they had feuding with from the word go. Then both members of the LOD didnt like their gimmick so Hawk left the WWF leaving Animal alone for the first time in 9 years and he was off to Japan. He became a two time IWGP champion while their, he also made sporadic appearances in the WCW and was suppose to have feud with a Japanese performer in WCW but never happend he then was brought in to team with animal instead but then withing the year they were gone. Now they were unemployeed again so they went back to WWF were they feuded with Godwins, put over the New Age Outlaws or you could say made them the team they are but then it started going south. In mid 98 they came back as LOD 2000 it didnt last as the WWE centered an angle about Hawk drug/alcohol problems as a reason to replace him with Droz. Even going as far to have Droz "push" Hawk off the tron dont believe me look it up on Youtube. Shortly after that LOD left traveling the scence for 4 years more until that faitful day in 2003 that Hawk unfortuatly passed away in his home in florida. At that point him & animal were working on a book of their career but never finished it together. In Mid 2005 Animal dedicated his entire tenure in the WWE to his partner from a run with Heidenrich in a team to a solo run as a heel.
