This day in Westling History

This day is a very special day as one of the more smarter wrestlers was born 66 years ago today. He is the son of a plumber from Austin Texas "American Dream" Virgil Runnels aka Dusty Rhodes. He started in the AWA in 1974 teaming with Dick Murdoch before leaving for Floridia which is the place he would become the Dream. After match against the graham's dusty turned on his partner & became a good guy then cut the promo "Get a dream hold on to it and shoot for the stars daddy." From that point forward dusty kept gaining steem until he reached the Mid-Atlantic region which was the top at that point. In the eaarly stages he teamed with Manny Fernandez, Magnum T.A, then Nikita Koloff. He feuded with Flair, Blanchard, Funk, Race, Stevens, Abdulah The Butcher, & others. Dusty then booked for a bit coming up with the ideas of Lethal Lottery, War Games, & Battelbowl (you dont know one of them look them up or ask) he also coinded the ending a dusty finish or a finish to a match without a decision. After a year dusty was out and off to the WWF were he competed for around a year and half before this time with his son returning the WCW to fight the good fight one more time. This time in WCW dusty was more of the announcer & a good guy who was "loyal to WCW" until sold out 98 when he joined the NWO. From their he managed till leaving for ECW where he put over Steve Corino who was World Champ. He later returned to feud one last time with ric flair before WCW closed. Since WCW closed dusty has opended his own company (TCW) worked for TNA as booker & is now employeed by WWE. Working down in FCW as booker once again dusty gets to push his knowledge into the head of the new generation.
Happy Birthday Virgil "Dusty Rhodes" Runnels
