History of: WCW p3

Now a new faces at the helm, someone with experience & someone that can change with the times like Eric. His first change in May of 1993 was to get out of the Disney MGM Studios and go worldwide like his opponent. Also because of the crumy place they were in to save money were they would tape events months in advance having stars appear on camera with a belt they weren't suppose to win for months. This happened with Rick Rude NWA title win & it cause him not to be recognized as the champion it also happend with The Hollywood Blondes as they showed footage of them losing the tag belt to Pretty Wonderful (Paul Roma & Paul Orndoff). But instead of that they made it happend at Clash of Champions but instead them losing it they made Pillman get hurt, & Steven Regal replace him thus breaking up The Hollywood Blondes (Steve Austin & Brian Pillman) who were immensly popular tag team but still. This much to the dismay of Austin & Pillman but thats why their out of buisness decision like this. Another bad decision was bring Flair back before his no compete clause was up with the WWE giving him a Talk Show like the WWF did with Piper way back when. On this show was also were the most imfamous debut in wrestling history which is that of the Shockmaster aka Typhoon from the WWF. Well i hear the story they didnt fine before the show but then an agent put a 2X4 on the bottom of the wall and instead of doing it good he fell through the wall poor Shockmaster. By the end of 93 the company was based around Flair again after top face Sid Vicious got into a fight on tour with Arn Anderson landing both in the hostpital & Sid unemployed.
With the new year Bischoff finally started to take control by using Turner's money to his advantage by getting known faces out of the WWF like Gene Oakerlaud, Jimmy Hart, & Bobby Hennan (who replaced JR in the booth as the known person), but also he recuruted away two top stars Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage. Which due to Eric's need to sign him he gave them Concessions, Multi Million $ deals, & Creative Conrol which all 3 of these would come back to bite them in the end. Hogan's ppv debuted was vs Flair for the world title which Hulk won and lead to WCW to very high buyrates for the ppv. But it didnt last cause they would only have one more match together and it wasnt as profitable. So due the fact that in 93 WCW lost 23 million dollars & came close to it the next year to mid way through 95 Eric put out for a meeting with Ted to try and fix things. He did just that as now WCW could have a weekly telecast as opposed to Saturnday Morings on TBS, now not thinking Ted would say yes Eric ask for primetime on a weekday to compete with Vince ted said yes. Nitro first debuted unopposed due to the premption of Raw that night also it was the night that Lex Luger the night after leaving WWF appeared on Nitro to stun the auidence at the Mall of America.
Now the Monday Night Wars are offically under way what does the future hold for the WCW will they become profitable or fail like some many other companies. Find out all this and more on the next part of the history of WCW
see you next time
